Challenge Background

Since the announcement of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Australian disability service providers have been adapting their business models to better meet the needs of NDIS participants and to operate under a new funding structure. Often providers have been challenged by the disruptive change that the NDIS has brought to funding, ways of working, focus and priorities.

Our Approach

An 8-month process of connecting and bringing a diverse mix of 17 participants including Disability Support Practitioners, NDIS participants, carers and people with little to no personal or professional experience with the disability support worker role togther to co-design ideas that reshape the role of the disability support worker while rapidly improving and building leadership skills of participants.
